Peaceful and Happy :Gömeç

Gömeç,which takes its name from the honeycomp, is famous for its hill that  resembles the silhouette of Ataturk and its century old plane trees.
    The town is located between Burhaniye and Ayvalik on the İzmir - Çanakkale highway.
    The Arthur - Guvercin,marti and Gemi Yatagi Bays with in the town of karaağaç in the borough have been awarded with blue flags by the european enviromental education fund with indicates cleanliness of sea.

    The cliffs which is the emblem of the municipality of Gömeç attracts the attention of those who are travveling on the Gömeç-Ayvalık highway. when you look closely you can see the profile of Atatürk  on tge high mountains at the back of Gömeç.
